Embroidery is not recommended for functional jackets, as the embroidery can damage the functional membrane, causing the jacket to lose its functional properties (e.g. waterproofing, windproofing, breathability).
Although embroidery is a high-quality, very durable form of personalisation, and is suitable, for example, for heavily used garments such as chef’s jackets, we strongly recommend transfer printing for functional jackets.
Additional information:
- With embroidery, needles must perforate the fabric, which can damage the functional membrane.
- With transfer printing, a film is applied on the outer layer, without perforating the membrane.
- Transfer printing preserves the jacket’s functionality, and offers a wide range of colours and print sizes across our range.
If you are unsure whether your chosen item is suitable for embroidery or which personalisation method is best for your logo, please contact our customer service team. We will be happy to advise you.
